It is found in Kentucky in the west and Georgia in the south. The plant is known for its rose pink colored flowers which can either be pale or deep. The flowers grow in clusters and can be up to an inch in width.
The plant reaches a height of ten inches. Its stems are sticky and hairy. The elegant flowers of this plant look refreshing. They are the perfect choice for rock gardens since they grow well in sandy or rocky soil. The edge of the rock garden will be the best place for these small flowers. Sleep Catchfly or Silene antirrhina grows in woods and waste places. It has small pink colored flowers which open up only in the daytime when there is sunshine. Mostly they are calyx but the par is much more expanded in fruits. It blooms in summer months and is found in the western and southern parts. They plant has sticky and swollen joints which help it to defend itself against crawlers.
